OUR COLLEGE DEPARTMENTS

BASIC ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

The Basic Engineering Program provides a high-quality, uniform first-year program of study for beginning engineering students in the College of Engineering at C.M.Annamalai polytechnic college Students are introduced to various fields of engineering and maths, physics, chemistry and the concept of engineering design. The program offers an initial major for entering students who have decided on a specific engineering discipline.

The Basic Engineering curriculum covers the freshman year and includes:

  • Fundamental subjects, such as Calculus, Chemistry, and Communication English.
  • Engineering skills, such as Engineering Graphics and Computer Programming.

  • CIVIL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

Civil engineering encompasses the conception, design, construction, and management of residential and commercial buildings and structures, water supply facilities and transportation systems for goods and people, as well as control of the environment for the maintenance and improvement of the quality of life.

Civil engineering includes planning and design professionals in public and private sectors, contactors, builders, educators, and researchers. Civil engineering is the application of physical and scientific principles, and its history is intricately linked to advances in understanding of physics and mathematics. Because civil engineering is a wide ranging profession, including several separate specialized sub-disciplines like structures, materials science, geology, soils, hydrology, environment, machines and other fields.

    Objectives

    • To provide a firm and solid foundation in mathematics, basic engineering sciences, and computer applications required in the field.
    • To encourage students to develop problems solving mindset, much required in their fields of work.
    • To empower students with knowledge through practical learning and progressive research and development exercises.

    MECHANICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

Mechanical engineering is a study which enables a blend of mathematics and science, and a mastery of the two subjects through the application of principles in physics, design, manufacturing and maintenance of mechanical systems.

The course study and syllabus includes mathematics encompassed in differential equations, physical science inclusive of chemistry, physics, mechanics of materials, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, statics and dynamics.

    Objectives

    • To provide students with the maximum level of exposure possible in this field of study, and to give them an edge over the others in terms of employment.
    • To equip students with adequate knowledge in areas of technical importance, to meet the needs of the industry and society on a global scale.
    • Practical experience and knowledge is a must have for all students through research and projects that forms part of their syllabus.

    ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

Electrical and Electronics Engineering is concerned with the practical applications of electricity in all its forms, including those of electronics. The subject deals with electric light and power systems and apparatus ,electronics engineering deals with wire and radio communication, the stored-program electronic computer ,radar and automatic control systems.

Electrical Engineering is considered to deal with the problems associated with large-scale electrical systems such as power transmission, motor control and the study of small-scale electronic systems including computers and integrates circuits.

    Objectives

    • To provide up-to-date technical knowledge and skill in all areas of study, to enable the students to become component engineers and make a qualitative difference in their fields.
    • To provide a suitable environment for research and development on the subject as well as the latest facilities and equipment required.
    • To pose potential challenges and problems to the students in their course of study in order to increase the competency and level of efficiency after the employment.

    ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

Diploma course in Electronic and Communication Engineering is concerned with the practical application of Electronic in all its forms, including those of communication. The subject deals with electronic components, integrated circuits and microprocessors, consists of fabrication, maintenance and supervision of the manufacture of electronic equipment.

Encrypting and decrypting of messages using latest methodology.Engineering deals with wire and radio communication, the stored-program electronic computer, radar and automatic control systems.Electronic Engineering is considered to deal with the technologies associated with message transmitting and receiving controls, the study of small-scale electronic systems includinf computers and integrated circuits.

    Objectives

    • To enable students to test electronic circuits manufacturing, testing and maintenance of electronic device and systems.
    • To provide a innate understanding of the construction, identification, characteristics, specifications, merits, limitations and applications of electronic components and materials.
    • To establish a clear line of understanding about Principle communication, both audio and video communication, as well as microwave communication.
